Lars Scheibner was born in Leningrad in 1976, the son of a Russian mother and a German father. Following his training at the State Ballet School in Berlin he started out as a group dancer at a theatre in Gera, later appearing as a soloist at Berlin’s Komische Oper. From 2001 until 2006, he was one of the stars of the Kiel Ballet-Company under Mario Schröder. In a poll conducted among critics by the periodical Ballett-Tanz he was nominated outstanding young dancer of the year 2003 for his performance of the title role in Schröder’s dance production “The Dream of Vincent van Gogh”.

Lars Scheibner has danced important roles choreographed by Dietmar Seyffert, Ton Wiggers, Niels Christie, Jan Linkens, Richard Wherlock, Tom Schilling, Birgit Scherzer and Mario Schröder. Ever since he completed his training he has also worked as a choreographer. He attracted special attention with the cross-over dance project “Prometheus”, which Scheibner developed with other artists for the Expo 2000 in Hanover . Since August 2006, Lars Scheibner is working as a freelance dancer and choreographer Berlin. He has created successful productions in Berlin ( in cooperation with the Staatsballett Berlin ), Schwerin, Kiel and Trier. In July 2009 Lars Scheibner was honoured with the Conrad - Ekhof - Prize in Schwerin.
2016 Lars Scheibner became the artistic director of the
„Deutsche Tanzkompanie“ in Neustrelitz.
